Communication controls can govern experience chat, direct chat, and private servers, but some settings also require an age check or parent consent.
Before you start
Use the official Roblox account and keep passwords, one-time codes, gift-card PINs, and full payment details off third-party sites.
What to check, in order
- 1
In the linked parent account, open the child's Parental controls, then Communication. Review each chat type separately.
- 2
Choose the least open setting that works for your family, then check Visibility & private servers for who can invite the child.
- 3
Confirm the child's actual experience after the change. If a switch is disabled, read the on-screen age-check requirement instead of trying to bypass it.
One important limit
Disabling one chat type may not disable every way players communicate inside an experience.
Continue on an official screen
Use the linked Roblox or payment-provider page to confirm the current options. If you contact support, describe what happened and the checks you have already tried.
